Temple Football Forever 
Yes, maybe they’re not your words, but I respectfully disagree with that assessment. Did the ref blow the call? Absolutely. Not to mention that Crudup did NOT hold on the play. But when UConn runs the ball on 80% of their plays, and you know it, and cannot stop it, you don’t deserve to win. Travis Shelton drops two key passes…one leading to an interception, another a sure TD a good 10 yards behind the defense on a bomb…you don’t deserve to win. Words cannot describe my frustration. I’d love to pin this loss on Hanna or a Big East official, but alas, I cannot. 1st and goal at the 4 yard line on our first drive. Field Goal. Disappointing. Complete non-effectiveness from the run game. Disappointing. This was a game that could have been won. Begrudgingly, UConn was the better team today. Barely. On a high note, I thought DiMichele played brilliantly, given the conditions. Well, Mike, maybe next week.
The refs made 3 or 4 frivolous calls on Temple big plays. Those calls were so far away from the play, you have to wonder why the ref was even looking in that direction.I hate to blame the refs, but my God, 2 years in a row? I am so frustrated again. Next year, can we get better refs from a local high scool league?
Yes, we can get better (i.e., more objective) officials from local high school games but the Big East won’t hire them because it knows those officials will make the “fair” call and not the “right” one, meaning protecting their team.
Correction: It SHOULD have been a first and goal at the 4, but the ball was placed incorrectly by the Big East refs at the 10. Owls get in if it’s 1st and goal from the 4. They don’t get in if it’s first and goal from the 10. I wonder why they didn’t place the ball six yards back when Uconn had it in overtime? All the refs do is be fair and Temple wins that game. They act kooky and goofy and stupid and Temple loses. It’s almost like a Hollywood script.
