You need your own guys to be sure. NC State has 5 coaches from Cincinnati, because that is what O'Brien knows, and guys he trusts. Not because they are NC State guys. They have all been with him for years.
Strike one, Wilkerson is going pro. Strike two, it is past January 3rd and Addazio is down to his second and third choices for OC and DC. What's next? Despite all, I still ordered my season tickets with Emily today.
Next season will be the infamous "rebuilding". With Wilkerson gone the tone has been set. Last year's defense had three pros. 2011 we have only one. This is so sad.
No way is this a rebuilding season. The loss of Mo means Temple will be returning 14 starters, not 15. Also, Big Mo was a non-factor in the Miami and Ohio games because we were rushing three. A pass rush works when you rush more than they can block and we rarely did that. We will be OK with a DC who attacks the passer (read: blitz).
I agree with TFF. Wilkerson is a future pro, but the great thing about college football is that there are always new players who are hungry for greatness in every generation and every class. There's always someone in the pipeline. Next season will be like Christmas for us: We just open up our presents and see which DT we got! Who knows, red shirted Dante "Inferno" Weaver could blow us away this year and make us forget about Mo Money Mo Money Wilkerson. Adrian Robinson is a stud, but you could even see that his backup and future replacement, Sean Daniels, has some pep in his step, too. Plus, it's a team sport. One man doesn't win the game – this one goes to 11!
AG had a plan in place and next year (2011) was supposed to be the final fruition to that plan.As he said after the Ohio game, Bobcats played 15 five-year seniors to Temple's 3.Temple SLOWLY redshirted more and more each year and the 15 it redshirted last year included some super talents, like Connor Reilly (QB) and Weaver, among others. Those, plus the 14 returning starters, plus Robinson, plus the Coyer/Gerardi tandem, plus Streater, etc., etc., etc. give me hope.Now if Addazio goes out and hires more GA's to coach the D-Line and LBs, I'll be worried but I don't think he will.God, I hope not.
