Chatter about TUFB rejoining The Big East has been out there for awhile.One rumor I've heard is that it's already a done deal but they want to keep it quite for now.To me, it would be best possible fit for both The Big East and TUFB.But, one thing is for sure. If Temple doesn't get invited back now and they continue to progresses the way most people expect them to, The Big East will be kicking themselves for not snatching them back up while they had the chance.
Philadelphia would be the second-largest football market in the Big East and Temple is the ONLY football team not named Penn State to pull down huge TV ratings in a bowl game in the Philly market. So Temple has proven itself from a TV perspective. It is now time for Temple fans to prove themselves from getting-their-fannies-in-the-seats basis. Nothing would impress the BE more than an average of 25K for the MAC games alone. This is doable with a fast start.
TFF,this becomes a four-alarmer when we sign a four star recruit, and the recruit points to the Big East as one of the reason he chose Temple.
Look at all the trouble you're starting on the rivals board over this! I'll wager that the staff was telling recruits that they're going to make a push for re-entry into the BE, resulting in skewed statements by the parents. I'll believe the BE rumors when ESPN or Philly.com report something.
Not causing trouble at all.If one or two recruits said "coach told me Temple is a CANDIDATE for the Big East" or that "Temple could be in the Big East soon" then the story is a non-starter.Since two were definite in their statements that Temple "would be in the Big East" it US a story.Going forward, it ceases to be a story should no other recruit bring up the Big East topic (that would mean that Daz has issued an edict to stop using this tactic).Villanova is indeed out of BE football consideration. It's painfully obvious that they will never offer a suitable stadium situation to the rest of the BE football schools.
Even if it's not true I think it's hysterical. It is impossible for me to believe that Adazzio's staff is telling recruits that Temple is going to the Big East if it isn't true. It would be such blatant dishonesty that the program wouldn't recover from it. The only reason why he would intentionally do something like this is if he planned to leave quickly.But in the end I have to believe that the coaching staff is saying these things because it is true.The only question is, is it for football only or will it be for all sports?

Villanova only gets about 5K to their campus games. Granted, that is for minor league football, they would likely get more if they moved up and played Big East teams.So if Temple has 100 times the fan base, that means Temple has a 500K football fan base? I think you're reaching a bit, considering we are not immune to our own attendance problems.
we have attendance problems, sure, but given that their alumni website lists 47K living alumni (most from out of the area) and ours 270K (most living IN the area), our ceiling is indeed about 100x more for a fan base.I was there for the games between the two teams. Villanova, coming off a national title, drew 2-4K out of the 32K fans. Temple drew 28-30K. Big difference. BIG difference.
It is very impressive that Temple already has 21 verbals by July 1st. Which is double the amount of other school like Georgia, Flordia, or any MAC school. I have to think they are making this push for something maybe proofing themselves to the Big East. I am suprised Philly.com is ignoring this story. What is chances we can get a 4 star recruit this yr. Any on the radar?
UCF kids were saying this before last signing day. I think it's more of a sign that the staff are telling stories. UCF recruits later clarified by saying "they think they have a shot at the Big East and they want to help them get there."
maybe DAZ and our imported from FLA coaching staff had an inside track on Temple's move to the BE before all of them decided to take I-95N….., how else do explain going from national championships and the SEC to the MAC? ….,not sure if having 21 one and two stars at this time is a good thing, heck, how many scholarships do we have next year?……, improving our campus and student quality of life must be a priority if we are going after four star recruits and the BE……, we need to pick the QB we want to have under center for the PSU game now. We can't switch the starting QB before the big game! in the spread offense the QB is the most important position on the field – period.
Northern VA brings up an interesting theory.Surely there were more prestigious programs out there Coach Daz could have went to. Not to mention it is pretty interesting that he was able to convince virtually the entire Gators coaching staff to come with him.I have heard that the Big East was quietly looking at bringing Temple back already. But, maybe Daz has an Ace in his pocke and knew he could grease the skids on getting Temple back into the Big East Faster.It would certainly explain a lot.
