Temple Football Forever 
Nevada and Boise both have open dates for 12/1. Both schools are allowed a 13th game due to the fact they travel to Hawaii this year
I like it, AlbanyOwl.I'd rather play at Nevada, than the blue turf in Dec.Dec. 1 would be good because it would be before bowl announcement Sunday and it would give the Owls some time to rest up before a possible bowl game.Much better than the Sept. dates.Hopefully, BB is working those phones now.
If Im being honest, I would actually rather see the Big East schedule inverted. personally, I'd rather see Temple vs. Pitt, Louisville, Uconn (Live)than USF, Cuse and Cincinnati and Im actually closer to Rutgers at the moment. However, Don't take that as a complaint, as im just extremely excited to even have these teams on the schedule. I would like a 12th game but am ok if the schedule remains at 11. Also, I know that we lost a great group of seniors and a outstanding junior RB but I honestly think we can compete with anyone on that schedule. That includes PSU although I think we missed our best opportunity in a while last year. I think Addazio in his second year will have a better understanding of this team and have them ready to make some noise.
we have enough back on defense (Paulhill, Custis, Levi Brown, Youbouty, Daniels on the line … all starters at times; Gildea at safety; Robey and Jones at corners and Caponegro and Ahkeem at LBs) that we will be in every game with Heater in charge. Offense, the key is QB. We now have a QB. We haven't had one since 2007. We're going to be explosive on offense and stingy on defense. We've got to keep key people (Coyer, Matty and Brandon McManus) healthy, though.
Just curious…but Temple's website says the Cherry and White game is open to everyone. Wouldn't the extra week be good for this transition season? Just some extra time to recuperate, adjust? I feel OK about Matt Brown (I've been one of the Matt Brown guys for a while), and Coyer…but I still think it would be useful this year (and we can afford it, since we don't need to go undefeated to be a sure-thing for a bowl game now.)Second; I just thought I'd pipe in and thank you for providing such a great site. Over the last couple of years TFF has been my go-to for temple football (I've posted under a diff name), and you can definitely see an increase in people posting. Now that Temple has made the BCS jump, I imagine it's going to get even more crowded.
1) Thank you for the kind words.2) Temple doesn't schedule anticipating a loss. I think Temple would struggle at Boise State (even though BSU is totally gutted by graduation) but would be very competitive and probably win at Nevada (if they don't get MAC refs).3) Half my brain (the irrational part) says to get another game so that I'm not twittling my thumbs on three Saturdays. The other half says it probably would be better to transition with an 11-game sked. It's a 50/50 ball. If it's at Nevada, I'm up for the challenge. If it's at Vandy, I'm up for the challenge. If it's 11 games, I can hope for good weather and go jogging those days, listening to the other BE games on my old-fashioned transitor radio.
A BYE week before PSU and before USF is perfect for our first year back in the big east. This way there are no trap games looking ahead to Penn State or our first home conference game. We should be 100% focused on these two games that will set the tone for how the rest of the nation looks at Temple Football. I agree that I would rather be watching Temple play, but these 2 extra weeks of preparation will be essential and come at the perfect time. Great work as always Mike!!!

I've never understood the concept of "letdown" as it relates to college football, yet it does happen (Exhibit A, Toledo).I mean, you work your ass off 365 days for those 12 games and you should play Toledo and Bowling Green with the same fire as you light for Penn State and Maryland.You are only asked to "bring it" for 12 games, not 162.Now Toledo was a good team, but 36-13 good?No way.All (a lot of) the Temple players were quoted as saying they were feeling full of themselves after Maryland and that's why they lost their edge against Toledo.Then Daz said he was going to run the next week's practice like Marine Boot Camp and it paid off.If that's what it takes, I hope Daz runs 12 weeks of Marine Boot Camp during the season.Things like bye weeks in this case do help.Beating Penn State would be a huge statement message for this program but beating South Florida after beating Penn State would send a message that this is a program, not a one-year wonder.
Quick question, any idea where this picture is from? It looks like its against PSU but I do not remember this endzone pattern before. As well as the linc being this packed. that was the 2007 PSU game and they photoshoped fake end zones into the picture. Don't know why because there were great photos of 65 percent of the people wearing Cherry (really, not photoshoped) in the 2011 game with real end zones much better painted than the photoshoped one.
