How much did Temple use the shotgun last year when Coyer was in the game, and will they us it more this year.Something that you haven't brought up much (or else I missed) in your justifiable praise of Matty Brown is that smaller faster backs are actually better for the spread option, so while BP may be the better prototypical back Matty may be the better back once the full spread is installed.
Absolutely. We did touch on this before. Matty Brown is better in the spread than in Al Golden's running-oriented attack. It spreads the field and allows the smaller, quicker Brown to sneak underneath for big gains. Montel Harris reminds me a lot of MB in terms of running style. Should be a good 1-2 punch (three, if you add Coyer in there, who ONLY gained 184 yards in a game at Ohio).
Coyer ran more plays out of the gun than underneath center in the stretch he went 4-0 as an Owl starter.
