Hate to say it Mike, but I don't think that The Philly papers will really give Temple any "love" until we see a season close with the Owl's in the top 25 and with a win over Penn State (However a win over Notre Dame would be equally as nice). I'm not saying this to be pessimistic, but more out of the frustration of reading years of "Oh yeah, I almost forgot…" prose in the local rags.Just my 2 cents,Pat Conneen

haha that Philly.com article was the worst article I have read, Klugh is a clown. How can those rankings be based off of non-college experience. Bill O'Brien has one year in the college ranks and he is magically top 25?!? He is a great coach, but those rankings are still pointless. The only thing more pointless than the rankings, is an article basing the success of Temple on the rankings!

That could be interesting.Since Tulane and Tulsa are in the conference, I think we should spell out TEMPLE in some way.We all know and love our T, but not all outsiders do.

I'm excited….., Rhule appears to have hired a sound OC, my guess it was the OC behind the Reilly rise….., Rhule brings positive energy…., the defensive OC will not be here next year, typical "stuck in the 80s" syndrome…., if we can keep the outcome of ND game to a 30 or under differential and beat Houston the following week then a bowl game is a real possibility, we'll need this to generate and sustain recruiting momentum. Me, too, Kent.I was at the E-O from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.I got the strong vibe that the team was fed up with Addazio's bullbleep.Addazio was more flash (talk) than substance.There's a real Al Golden-like substance to Matt Rhule that is refreshing.He fixes problems by addressing them on the field.Daz tried to fix problems with speeches.

That's weird. Nothing is in either email account, nor is anything on Owlsdaily or Owlscoop about it.I expect a good crowd for Houston, not so good for Fordham and regular 18-22K-plus crowds for everyone else.All bets are off, though, if the Owls win at ND.Then the crowds will skyrocket.
Ratings of coaches, especially first year head coaches is a fools errand. I have no doubt MR will prove over time to be a better head coach than addazio. AG was a tremendous program builder but also mediocre on game day. He was exactly what the program needed at the time and owls fans should forever be indebted to him for saving our program from the ash heap. Daz reputation as a recruiter was earned in the SEC but he didn't land the studs the owls needed to consistently compete and certainly was a mediocre game day coach. Last year was a disaster with bad decisions in schemes, adjustments and use of talent (eg what the hell was an all-state dback doing on the bench as fourth team QB with our abysmal secondary?). Lets give MR and his questionable DC some time before we pass judgement but my guess is we won't regret Daz packing his carpet bag and going up to Boston.
Good point.The real test of "nice guy" Matt Rhule vs. "good head coach" Matt Rhule will be if Phil Snow isn't up to snuff as DC.Will the nice guy MR have the gonads to make the hard personnel decisions to let underperforming coaches go?I don't know.I hope he never has to make the move because Snow shuts out a few teams and the Owls lead the AAC in scoring defense (I don't care much about yardage defense).Sobering thought:Snow's last shutout as a DC was in 1996.That's the last century and four years before the Y2K scare.Chuck Heater had back-to-back shutouts in 2011 and even with youngsters shut out UConn in 2012.
