Couldn’t agree more. A problem will be with how college football is now. Not just do the “power” conferences get the bowls but also the awards. Look what they did to Justin Hardy with the Belitnikoff. He’s not one of the 10 best WR’s in the country??
college football is really corrupt if they can’t find a space on the All-American team for Justin Hardy. His credentials speak for themselves, but the Power 5 is muscling in and ruining college football. there’s got to be a place for great Group of 5 players like Hardy and Marshall qb Cato on the All-American teams.
The power 5 is ruining college sports, great article in the Philly paper on-line today. The NFL is the real barometer for quality players however. Just last year UCFs Bartles was the 1st QB to be drafted and I’m sure Hardy and Marshal will get their chances too. The NCAA and power5 exemplify greed.

the level of sophistication in NFL scouting today is off the charts.., what matters most is on the field play and the subsequent draft. what bothers me most about the trend in Temple football is 2015 will mark the second year in a row in which Temple did not have a player drafted.., this speaks to the level of talent we are putting on the field.
That’s good point but the kids that were drafted were not highly recruited and developed under the aegis of the Owls. it’s unfair to blame the coaches for not turning 2-3 stars into pros. Some kids aren’t physically mature as freshman can grow a couple of inches and gain the necessary weight to make hem big enough. Some kids don’t grow any more at all.
that is exactly my point John…, we need a coach who can attract, recruit, and develop three and four star athletes vice the predominantly two stars we have gotten with the last several recruiting classes…, want examples of how the HC makes a difference? look at what Franklin is doing at PSU, and at what TT is doing at Cincy…, we need a program changing coach at Temple.., and so what if the guys leaves immediately after putting us in the top 20 and in great bowl game, at least the bar will have been set
Kj…ill give you last season but this years 2015 draft wont have any temple players but thats mainly bc there was only what 2 seniors starting?? There is def 3 players on this team who will at worst be on a training camp squad. You can guess the first two hint LB, C, and then I def see Thompson getting drafted late or at least rookie free agent if the qb doesnt pick up and or the line give the qb some time or coaching doesnt change its philosophy and puts guys in better positions. Thats a debate for another day tho. And temple in the last 5 years has done probably the best job of a non power conf. Of having nfl talent. BP, STREATER, WILKERSON,JARRET, MCMANUS, and about 6 other guys from temple made nfl teams how many non power 5s have 10 or dam near 10 players in the NFL. Id bet fewer then 3 or 4
