Temple has a tough schedule for the next few years. There are very few off weeks like in MAC when playing lower-tier schools. I think it's great and I'm ready for this team to perform at the highest level.

Actually it was exactly the same uconn team that temple beat. That's why they let the players play the game, it moves the subjectivity of drunk undergrads with empirical evidence of whose the better team. Btw, anything even sniffing of defending randy edsel's competence as a head coach is highly suspect. I really hope he lasts at MD, I'd like to bank a couple of BCS wins.
soooo the News Conference was not streamed live on the Big East website like they said it would (wasting an hour of my night). At least Comcast Sports Net had a nice 20 minute segment on how the Big East will help Temple Football, Basketball, and Academics. It was good to see Dan Klecko, Michael Bradley, and Co. give props to the Owls.
Great day for Temple. And a great day for you Mike. I found this blog when your famous "Bowling Green post" made its way around the internet. I love my Gamecocks but Temple is a very close second. Not sure if I've seen a more loyal fan/blogger than you. I don't care what circumstances conspired to make this happen. It's absolutely the best case scenario for the Owls. Yes, the landscape of college football will likely change in the years to come, but to miss this train would have likely consigned Temple to the back bench permanently.
The Villanova fans on VUHoops.com are having a fit. They've been insulting all the other schools in the Big East trying to act like they are above it. It's maddening, in a funny way. Congrats Temple! I hope this is the first of many next steps towards a stronger national profile. Cheers.

The way I understood it a few months ago, is that Montrell Dobbs was not allowed to transfer to a BCS school. Hence the reason he choose between Temple and Marshall after being ruled academically ineligible. Do you know if he will be allowed to play at Temple now that we are a BCS team, Mike? Or am I interpreting it wrong?
The question regarding Dobbs was that there was some "wiggle room" for him to be eligible to play for a non-BCS school if he could get through the NCAA clearinghouse. The direct quote from Daz was that "we don't know" if he can get eligible for 2012. Now all doubts are off. He won't be eligible and will have to pay his way for one full year to Temple, THEN if his grades are up to snuff, will be eligible for 2013. I hope he hangs in there because he can play at this or any level.
gotcha… well then that scares me that once he gets his grades in the right direction, he can go back and sign with UConn for 2013; considering Temple no longer gives him an advantage of playing this season.
