Mike, just heard that Temple scheduled Delaware State. That’s what we can expect from the current administration. Like I asked my friend, what Widener or Rowan not available?
I could just see the conversation between Kevin Clark and Matt Rhule right now: “Matt, we got Delaware to come here next year.” …. “Kevin, I’m not comfortable with that. Dave Brock is a pretty good coach. Could you make that Delaware State?” … “Matt, you mean Delaware State, the MEAC school?” … “Yes, that’s the one.” …. “OK, Matt, I call Delaware right now and tell them I meant to schedule Delaware State.”
Honestly, after Fordham and Idaho, I think Matt Rhule is capable of losing to anybody. When I saw Fordham on the schedule, I said, “We could probably play Jalen Fitzpatrick at quarterback and beat that team, 55-0.” Losing to a team that lost to Lafayette is a complete and utter nightmare and beyond embarrassing. Lafayette lost to Penn. Ugh. Losing to a team that Florida State put up 80 on is even worse. Every night I wake up in a cold sweat and dream about these things happening and say, “Nah, that must have been a nightmare.” Then in the next second, I realize it wasn’t. The Matt Rhule Apologists will say we didn’t have Idaho and Fordham talent. Shaking my damn head. This nightmare of a season finally ends on Saturday. I hope the administration puts its foot down and doesn’t bite its collective tongue. Win or else. Win or else. Nothing else matters.
Mike, what I am finding even more amazing, aside from that “awesome” talent Fordham had with 3 BCS school transfers is how now looking at the 2014 schedule all of the issues Temple has faces, according to the apologists don;t apply to the new teams coming into the conference next year. I saw a post regarding the 2014 schedule and how ECU is playing on a “different level” than Temple. Ok they are having a good season this year but how come moving up in competition and not recruiting at a BCS level won;t hurt them. I keep hearing how the past 2 seasons are a higher level of competition than the MAC and aside from the 2013 and 2014 recruiting classes Temple is basically a MAC recruited team. Now we have ECU and Tulane for that matter who is playing well, coming out of C-USA, which using the Sagarin ratings as a reference, has been basically on par with the MAC the past 2 seasons and since the AAC losses it’s AQ next season you can make the case that neither team has any BCS level recruiting classes and are C-USA recruited teams. I just like how these teams will not be impacted by the same issues that the Rhule defenders cite as big impediments to Temple’s success.

True. People who think Tulsa and Tulane and Eastern Carolina are pushovers don’t really follow college football. We need to step up our game, more in coaching than in recruiting. Golden and Daz proved a lot of kids want to play football in Philadelphia. 1-11 doesn’t help the high-level kid make that decision this year and that’s all on coaching.
“Implementing his ‘whole new system’?” What new system? Darragh was their defensive coordinator at BU for the last 16 years, so I doubt he suddenly implemented a whole new defense as head coach. His offensive coordinator is the same as last year, and in his 21st year at BU, so I doubt they suddenly implemented a whole new offense. His defensive coordinator has been his defensive backs coach for the past 9 years, so again, I doubt there’s been much change in defense. And Bloomsburg was 10-2 last year.
At least’s Bloomsburg’s record improved with a new coach. Ours got three games worse.
Uh, I’m not sure you know what the word improved means. Bloomsberg finished 10-2 last year, losing in the NCAA DII playoffs. This year Bloomsburg finished 10-2, losing in the DII playoffs. That is called the SAME.
