A really nice story and it would be impolite of me not to acknowledge, BUT I have to concur with you about the sad state of affairs with our newspapers int he area. It is just awful.
I remember reading the Bulletin, Daily News and the Journal everyday. The writing and reporting was captivating. I loved the newspapers so much that I owned the Newspaper Stand up in Chestnut Hill for a number of years.
The Daily News/Inquirer are unreadable any longer. In addition to the crappy reporting and obviously biased slant, have you seen the terrible job they do with typesetting? How many times do you pick up a copy of the Daily News and its blurry?
I keep getting promotions in my e mail for the NYT. They are pushing it for $1 for the Sunday issue…..can’t barely give it away at this point.

Not only with the typesetting but the non-existent copy editing. Almost every story has a typo and that’s directly due to management penny-pinching with the copy editors and laying off almost all of them.
Why are my comments not loading? I wanted to see if news of Kyle Louis having a Penn State offer is true or not.
Learned a long time ago when a player “says” he has an offer from Penn State and picks Temple, you’ve got to take it with a grain of salt. Unless I see it on the Penn State site where he has a solid offer from PSU, not believing it and I did not see that anywhere other than the player himself. The only player I know got a solid offer from PSU and picked Temple was Mike Palys and that was only because Temple would allow him to play baseball in addition to football and Joe Paterno would not. Adam DiMichele got an offer but transferred to play baseball at a Community College in Florida before making his way to Temple, so that’s not like two offers on the table, one from PSU and one from TU, and picking TU.
