Tennessee QB Nico Iamaleava, amid reports that he wanted to renegotiate his NIL deal, did not show at Friday morning’s practice, sources told ESPN, and it was a surprise to Tennessee staff members and players. Iamaleava’s reps denied Thursday there was any renegotiation talk.
Right before the winter portal closed, Iamaleava’s reps wanted to see his deal upped to $4 million range and again this time as the spring portal opens Wednesday, and according to sources, Tennessee officials said they “weren’t going to blink.”
I don’t see this happening on North Broad for a few years at least. When/if it does, it will mean the program made leaps up the ladder.
Temple will never be able to win an arms race. Its history as a commuter school with a working student population and so few multi-millionaires among its graduates are biggest reasons. That’s the bad news. The good news is that there are a handful of G5 schools who have similar histories but always have a modicum of success due to being able to hire a coach who knows how to do more with less. We have one of those now. We haven’t had one of those in almost two decades.
I’m planning on attending – would you recommend bringing cash to buy clothes?
Cash is the only thing I bring every year. Hopefully, they never change the payment system.
An addendum: Bring both because last year I was shocked to learn that I couldn’t buy a soda at LFF without a credit card. Whenever someone compliments me on Temple stuff, it’s not the stuff I buy at the stadium or bookstore, it’s almost always jerseys or things I’ve purchased at Cherry and White.
