good news in this story – Temple is firmly in the same conversation with some of the top P5 schools.., we have a very favorable schedule that includes seven home games.., the question is not 10 wins, but 11 or 12 wins?
Today on College Football Today, there was a discussion that the Big Twelve is going to expand imminently. Memphis, Houston, UConn, Cincy, and BYU all mentioned. Also, there was talk that the league could implode because Oklahoma and Texas are not happy. No mention of TU.
disheartening to see lesser schools, P5 means a huge boost in funding for those Athletic Depts…, getting kicked out of the Big East continues to haunt Temple.., had we been competitive during those years we would be in the ACC right now w/Syracuse, Virginia Tech, etc…,

Temple announced future games with MD, BC, and Duke. Here is to hoping that BC and Duke become conference games!
One more thing. ESPN is thinking of starting an ACC network Such a network would, I think, need the Philly market, which is a plus for TU. The ACC needs to shore up the eastern market after the Big Ten invaded it, TU and UConn would fit the bill and assure that two of the biggest TV markets have an ACC presence.

Amen. I was interviewed before the ND game and said that the day exemplified that spending money to upgrade the program worked as evidenced by the crowd and the publicity and that had the B of T recognized in the 90’s that spending money on football was advantageous to the university, the athletic program would not find itself on the verge of irrelevancy. I’m afraid that it may be too late especially if the AAC disintegrates as it appears is going to happen. It is a conference filled with members who had a foot out the door the moment it was formed. As I said previously, the major conferences are only going to cement their advantage in the next five years and if that happens, the schools on the outside should just quit because they will not be able to compete and are simply wasting money.
college football will eventually become the P5 as Division I, everybody else will be Div II and Div III.., the AAC will disintegrate like the old Big East…, Temple did not foresee and make plans when the Big East fell apart, and now it crystal clear – the AAC is nothing more than another C-USA, are we happy being in another C-USA?
John, I fear you may be right about it being too late. If the AAC does disintegrate, with some of the teams being listed as replacements I see this conference at best being MAC level at best with a more spread out geographic footprint. Also, would have to think TV $s get renegotiated taking even that advantage the AAC had over other G5 conferences.

Patton was a party animal with great talent, the daily grind of going to class, practice, film study, and classroom requirements did not suit him well…, nice kid, super talent, and kind heart.., don’t think he gave the coaches much of a choice.., wish him the very best
kj, if you’re right about Southern Miss joining the AAC, at least they’ve had some darn good football here and there. Not so with ODU however. And, with no baseball anymore it’s good to have this field downtown, it includes track& field too – also good if men’s T&F ever gets reinstated.
