The 2025 team is loaded with seniors who have quality starts under their belts.
The 2026 team will not have the same number of experienced seniors unless Keeler hits the portal hard. And, 2026 will start a new QB.
A bowl bid in 2025 is achievable. Keeler has created a buzz.
6-6 and a bowl is all I ask for. Anything beyond that will be gravy.
I like gravy but, at my age, whenever I go to the doctor I can’t have something. Gravy was five years ago, four years ago was cake, three years ago was anything with carbs in it, two years ago I was told no salt and, when I went to the doctor on June 28, he said cut down on the white bread because it raises my sugar level. Now I can have wheat bread. Watch next year they take that off the diet. Fully expect in 10 years they’ll say “if the box says anything on it, don’t eat it.” I’ll probably die of starvation. 🙂
Love this coach, however, I am taking a wait and see approach regarding the offensive line.
Have a feeling we won’t have all of those pre-snap false starts we had under Drayton. That was embarrassing. The center from SC is solid and Luke Watson was forced to play OT as a true freshman. Hope that didn’t stunt his growth as the ideal thing is to spend the freshman year as a redshirt and bulk up in a college strength program and then hit the field the next year. Only thing I will say about the OL is that there are a lot of Drayton guys here and not a lot of transfer portal guys.
Hi Mike,
It’s Ross. Hope all is well.
Would like to have seen more OL in the portal but fingers crossed. Can’t utilize those new offensive weapons without a solid Oline.
Go Owls !
I think it’s a solid offensive line. Do I think it’s the offensive line that the Owls had in 2016 with Dion Dawkins protecting P.J.’s blindside? No. That was a P4 offensive line. This is a good G5-level OL.
Of course I hope you are right
On3 just acquired pravda, sideways for now
Same Temple-tied leadership group on the micro level?
Do you think there be one set starter at QB? Or will KCK use a committee like Addazio did with Chester Stewart and Chris Coyer in 2011?
That will be determined by fall practice. If McCoy knocks their socks off, he will be the starter. If Simon wins the job, I think they will have run/pass packages for McCoy about 4 series a game. I’m just glad Forrest Brock isn’t anywhere near 10th and Diamond.

Diamonds on the helmet are badass
It’s almost like Carey and Drayton were intentionally sabotaging the program, both on the field and off. The Drayton numbers on the helmet were the most redundant things I’ve ever seen. You don’t need numbers on the helmet when you have them on both sides of the jersey. Putting TEMPLE on one side of the helmet (with the ][ on the other) would have been ideal but the T on both is a step in the right direction.
Re: Uni’s. Hooray! No black or gray. Just cherry and white, thank you.
Hey, you’re spoiling my Friday post! 🙂
